I've walked her green valleys, and stood on the cliffs watching the oceans waves roll in
I've marveled at the miles and miles of stone walls as they meander up and down the mountain side
I've stood before the fairy mound, and yes I looked for the fairy or leprechaun behind the bush
I've danced to the lively jigs and been taken to places far away by the sound of Celtic pipes
I've drank the beer and tasted the stew
I've seen the dark side of the Irish temper, and the sweet innocent side of the young lads and lassies
I've seen her barren and lonely side, and heard her story of sorrow and grief
There is no other place on earth that touches you as this tiny island. Her history, her traditions, her folklore, her people.
If you ever get the chance, go there, feel her story for it resonates in every person, place and thing.
I guarantee you will be a different person

there's a dark spot in my soul
it fills me with fear
spirit is forever, I know
but I have not learned to touch it yet
How will I go on if you leave me now?
memories do not comfort me
they stir the muddy dark spot till it rises up like a phoenix
but there is no beauty there, just dark and alone
Im stuck here, immersed in the physical
loving and needing you
afraid of losing you
losing myself
fighting to see the good
failing
falling
crying.............................................................

Shelli Mellert I stood on the edge of eternity, wavering, faultering, alone and afraid. My eyes closed tightly I stepped into the unknown, I fell for the blink of an eye, then I soared like an eagle. He caught me, he holds me, he cradles me, he has given me gossamier wings and I fly........................................................
