I didn't swear at the telemarketer today,
or watch violence in a movie or on tv.
I didn't complain bout the aches and pains,
the world is a better place, because of me.
I didn't send those vengeful thoughts
to the moms whose baby's death is in question.
I acknowledge it's not for me to judge,
the jury is in, end of session.
The truth is known by "the one who matters".
Man's law has gone through due process,
We must let go and understand,
it is what it is, no more and no less.
I slammed the door in self pity's face,
and smiled at the grumpy teller.
I took advantage of ever chance
to honor my inner angel and ignore the heller.
I sent out some prayers for those in charge,
affirming they rule with wisdom and love,
ignoring the pull of the selfish ego,
getting inspiration on the wings of a dove.
I listened to the opinions of another.
I heard his words, understood what he said.
I may not agree one hundred percent,
but my mind was nourished and my soul was fed.
I understand the world if filled with many different trees,
from the fragrant cedar to the mighty oak.
Each has it's own merit, it own single voice,
yet under it all it is God who has spoke.
My heart is light,
and my soul is free.
Choices I had and choices I made,
today the worlds a better place, because of me.

The Call
According to the song by the "man in black,"
he "fell into a burning ring of fire".
He's left us now but Im sure he can see,
that we as humans have fell into a pit of muck and mire.
Treading water in the thick immovable
paralizing tar of fear.
Our lungs are burning and crying for air,
not contaminated by intolerance, hate. or the smell of sulfur that seems so near.
Surrounded by atrocities we cannot comprehend,
our eyes are clenched tight.
Yet we see through the lids and
the acid tears flow no matter how hard we fight.
Our hearts have shriveled within our chests.
The blood it once pumped long shed in the muck,
absorbed by the futility of loves endless quest.
Slowly we're losing ground,
slowly we're sinking.
What are we doing?
What the hell are we thinking?
How many babies must die at their mother own hand?
How many kittens tossed from the window of a speeing car?
How many daughters must still cower waiting for daddy's "good night"?
When will it be to much, gone to far?
Each of us can help, we can make it better.
One by one we can shed the black ooze.
Reach back for the one behind us and offer our hand,
we dont have to go under, we dont have to lose.
We're in this together, like it or not.
We all have something to give, whether big or small,
it all matters . give what ever you can.
Love you fellow man, answer the call.

The Question
You hide behind you fears I hide behind my tears You are mine and I am yours. You know You accept We are Better than before You know The symbol comes The sun sets against a purple sky as you hand to me the tangible sign I cry Soft warm grass caressess my body. We are one Never to separate again All is well We scream in unison The owl hears, understands and asks WHO? We answer US!
Being Is
Snow capped mountains, deep blue sea An apple in a bright green tree A singing child A love gone wild I laugh and play, touch and love For all is well in heaven and hell Defeat the devil It is done You and I are one You leave a part of you with me You keep the part I cannot see I feel you inside of me I see you beside me Here or away you are mine We are one A look, a touch, a tender kiss Passion beyond the heaven above Star crossed love, forever mine Aging like a find cool wine I am here, You are there We are, have been will always be

I've walked her green valleys, and stood on the cliffs watching the oceans waves roll in
I've marveled at the miles and miles of stone walls as they meander up and down the mountain side
I've stood before the fairy mound, and yes I looked for the fairy or leprechaun behind the bush
I've danced to the lively jigs and been taken to places far away by the sound of Celtic pipes
I've drank the beer and tasted the stew
I've seen the dark side of the Irish temper, and the sweet innocent side of the young lads and lassies
I've seen her barren and lonely side, and heard her story of sorrow and grief
There is no other place on earth that touches you as this tiny island. Her history, her traditions, her folklore, her people.
If you ever get the chance, go there, feel her story for it resonates in every person, place and thing.
I guarantee you will be a different person
Erin go Bragh!

there's a dark spot in my soul
it fills me with fear
spirit is forever, I know
but I have not learned to touch it yet
How will I go on if you leave me now?
memories do not comfort me
they stir the muddy dark spot till it rises up like a phoenix
but there is no beauty there, just dark and alone
Im stuck here, immersed in the physical
loving and needing you
afraid of losing you
losing myself
fighting to see the good
failing
falling
crying.............................................................

Shelli Mellert I stood on the edge of eternity, wavering, faultering, alone and afraid. My eyes closed tightly I stepped into the unknown, I fell for the blink of an eye, then I soared like an eagle. He caught me, he holds me, he cradles me, he has given me gossamier wings and I fly........................................................
